Naomi runs a clinic in Saffron Walden. After an in-depth, initial consultation the patient usually receives a massage and sometimes the use of cupping, moxibustion, gua sha or electro-acupuncture will be used. This is followed by the insertion of needles which are retained for 20 minutes while the patient relaxes in their own private space.

Low Cost Clinic

Naomi offers a low cost multi-bed acupuncture clinic where several patients can be treated at the same time. This is for those who are unable to pay the full fee for an acupuncture session or have a chronic condition that requires long term treatment. It is ideal for couples, friends and family members.

Each patient has an initial one-to-one private consultation where symptoms and medical history are discussed. On consequent treatments each patient is allocated time to discuss their treatment and for the needles to be inserted. Acupuncture needles are usually retained for 20 minutes, so while one patient relaxes the next patient can be seen. Every effort is taken to ensure patient modesty and privacy. Follow-up treatments in the low cost clinic cost are on a sliding scale of £20-£40.

Research shows that patients report many positive experiences and few negative experiences in multi-bed clinics. Patients particularly like the community feel these clinics create (Stone, 2006).
